MARIA PSARIANOU
She was born in Thessaloniki where she still lives and works. She studied law at the Democritus University of Thrace and then jewelry design and manufacture at the MOKUME school, where she was later taught handmade jewelry making techniques. She is fascinated by curved plastic molds while at the same time she is attracted by the strict geometry. The simplicity of her designs is always embellished by the playfulness presence of a pearl or the discreet presence of a polished metal surface within a matte ensemble. She is a founding member of J.A.W (jewelery art workers).
In 2006 she was awarded for her necklace creation in the international competition “Tahitian Pearls Trophy”. In 2007 in the same competition she won two awards in two different categories of jewelry. From 2008 to 2013, together with two other colleagues-collaborators, they create the “three-thirds” store in the center of Thessaloniki.
