MARGARITA MEITANI
She was born in Athens in 1965. She studied Archeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Jewelry Design and Manufacturing at IIEK Mokume.
For many years she organized and taught seminars for the making of jewelry in various institutions.
She also taught the course of History of Art and Jewelry at IIEK Mokume from 1997 to 2017. In 2005 she opens her own workshop in the center of Athens.
In her jewelry, called the “Manuscripts”, she carves by hand, lyrics of her own, of Greek poets, greek folk songs, Erotokritos, the ancient tragedians or Homer. The texts are engraved on the metal (silver or brass) by her, with her special graphic character.
